Backpackers Plettenberg Bay

Crime & Safety in South Africa.

July 23, 2010 by Victoria Rowe 1 Comment

Most people’s visit to South Africa has been crime and incident free, so don’t be put off by the reports of high crime rates. If you use your common-sense and follow the safety rules as you would do in other countries while travelling. Don’t walk alone in quiet areas at night, don’t accept help from strangers at ATM’s, keep your valuables locked in the safe at your hostels and avoid carrying a lot of cash on you, and if you ask any locals for advice (South African’s are very friendly), as to which areas to avoid, especially in the cities, they will tell you.

Enjoy your stay in our beautiful country and we hope to see you at Starling Village Backpackers on the Garden Route in Plettenberg Bay.

Wow!, this was a real quality post. In theory I’d like to write like this too – taking time and real effort to make a good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a lot and never seem to get something done
