Place of Hope Africa –caring for orphans and vulnerable children

October 4, 2010 by Victoria Rowe No Comment

With currently nine small children to care for, it is no easy task at the babies’ shelter. Celia has been doing such an amazing job living there alone with volunteers helping during the day. Praise the Lord we now have Nandy, an additional live in helper who arrived last week! Diaper changing, bathing, and feeding children is the order of the day. Of course with 5 two year olds, there is never a dull moment. Chasing after a very active bunch of toddlers, and just loving on them all, is quite a workout. The orphaned and abandoned children living in foster care at Place of Hope are thriving under the loving care of Celia and helpers. We are pleased with recent lab results… all of our children tested for HIV/AIDS are ALL NEGATIVE! This is truly a miracle as most of their mothers tested HIV positive, and some mothers have already died as a result of this illness devastating Sub-Saharan Africa.
